Raymond Muncy was the son of Zachariah B. Muncy and Laura Abeline "Addie" (Saylor)Muncy. 

Raymond passed away at the age of 93, in Corbin, KY at Baptist Medical Center. Formerly of Coldiron, Harlan County, KY, he was a retired coal miner and a member of the Park Hill Baptist Church in Corbin.

Raymond was preceded in death by his wife, Minnie Lee (Thompson) Muncy, his parents, Z.B. Muncy and Laura Abeline "Addie" (Saylor) Muncy; three sisters; Rhoda Roland, Esther M. Nally, and Nora Osborn; two brothers, Paul Muncy and Daniel Muncy. 

Raymond is survived by two sisters, Dovie Williams of Murray and Omega Dowell of Tucumseh, Michigan; three children, Raymond Lee Muncy, Batavia, Ohio, Sandra Joyce Vickers, Cincinnati, Ohio and Laura Jeannette Hall of Petersburg.

MUNCY, CHARLES ERNEST, SR., 79, of Louisville, passed away Thursday, March 2, 2006, at Britthaven Nursing Home. 

He was a native of Bardstown, KY, a World War II Army veteran, owner/operator of Western M Tavern, a security employee for Treyton Oak Towers and a member of Brookview Baptist Church. 

Charles was preceded in death by a son, Charles E. Muncy Jr.; sister, Margaret P. Jones; and a brother, Carl E. Muncy. 

He is survived by two daughters, two sisters, six grandchildren, and four great-grandchildren.

His funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. Monday at Nunnelley Funeral Home, 4327 Taylor Blvd., with burial in Floydsburg Cemetery. Visitation will be from 2-8 p.m. Sunday. Memorial contributions may be made to Hospice of Louisville.

Survivors: a daughter, Margaret H. O'Bryan; a son, James W. Keeling; two grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.

Funeral: 2 p.m. Friday, Arch L. Heady, 7710 Dixie Highway. Burial: Resthaven. Visitation: 11 a.m.-9 p.m. Thursday and 9 a.m.-2 p.m. Friday.

When William Muncy was born on April 7, 1803, in Harlan, Kentucky, his father, William, was 25 and his mother, Suzanna, was 30. He married Agnes Bowling and they had 10 children together. He then married Mary Polly Mosley and they had three children together. He died on February 20, 1871, at the age of 67.

“Peter's parents were Samuel Muncey 1740-1811 and Agnes Cravens. He married first Margaret Martin. He married second Francis Owens Wood in 1802 and they had 5 sons and 5 daughters. He married third Mary (Davenport) Bullock in 1847 and they had two sons.


Peter Muncy entered 40 acres (in Clay Co., IN) in Section 20, on March 27, 1838, where he died in 1856. He entered the south forty in Section 20, January 11, 1837, and there built his first house in which he lived (so he was in Clay Co., IN by January 1837)

JONES, MARGARET PEARL , 76, of South Louisville, passed away, Saturday July 30, 2005, at Rockford Nursing Home. 

She was the former Margaret Muncy, a native of LaGrange, KY., a retired food service employee for the Dobbs House International and attended Brookview Baptist Church. 

She is survived by her daughters, Billie Jean Bogard and Joann Clark; sisters, Flossie Howard and Dorothy Breeding; a brother, Charles Muncy; three grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren. 

Mrs. Jones' funeral will be held at 2 p.m. Tuesday at the Southern Home of Arch L. Heady & Son, 3601 Taylor Blvd. with cremation to follow. Visitation will be from 1-8 p.m. Monday. Expressions of sympathy may be made to the American Cancer Society. Arch L. Heady & Son, 3601 Taylor Blvd.
