BLUEFIELD- Juanita Vivian Munsey, 84, of Route 2 Box 135,
Bluefield, died on Monday, Oct. 1, 2001 at the Maples in Bluefield.
Born Feb. 24, 1917, in Mercer County, she was the daughter of the late Walter Grant Meadows Sr. and Nella Kidd Meadows. Mrs. Munsey had been a lifelong resident of Mercer County and was retired from Bluefield State College as the supervisor of the Snack Bar and was a homemaker. She was a founding member of the 1 st Church of God in Montcalm and was a member and attended the 1 st Church of God on the Airport Road in Bluefield.
She was a devoted wife, mother and grandmother.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Oran Hershel Munsey; three sisters, Mildred Cordle, Verlie Hicks and Violet McDowell; and two brothers, Roy Cornice Meadows and Walter Meadows Jr.
Survivors include her son, Eldon Munsey and wife, Priscilla of Route 2, Bluefield; daughter, Claudine Perkins of the home; two grandchildren, Teresa Billings and husband, Ray of Wytheville, Va. and Steve Munsey and wife, Kathy of Columbia, S.C.; two great grandchildren, Tiffany Pruett and Matthew Munsey; and foster brother, Clayman Webb of Chicago, Ill.
Funeral services will be conducted at 7 p.m. today at the Cravens Shires
Funeral Home in Bluewell with the Rev. Dana Hambrick officiating.
Graveside rites will be conducted at 11 a.m. Wednesday at Roselawn
Memorial Gardens on the Courthouse Road, Princeton.
The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 6 8 p.m. today.

BIVENS, Myrtle
Funeral services are scheduled for 3 o'clock Thursday afternoon for Mrs. Myrtle Bivens, 46, who died unexpectedly Tuesday afternoon in Swisher County Hospital. Although she was hospitalized Sunday for what was believed to be a minor ailment, her condition apparently did not become serious until a short time before her death.

Mrs. Bivens was born Sept. 27, 1905 in Floyd County. She attended West Texas State College where she met and married DELBERT BIVENS in 1923. They had lived on a ranch near Tulia most of their married life.

Active in charitable and social work, Mrs. Bivens had been affiliated with both the county and state Red Cross and Child Welfare organizations. During the depression of the 1930's she assisted with the NYA program in Tulia. For many years she took an active part in school activities. She was a member of the First Baptist Church where final rites will be held. Rev. W. Neil Record, pastor, will officiate. Burial will be in Rose Hill Cemetery under direction of Wallace Funeral Home.

Survivors, besides her husband, include a daughter, Mrs. Frank Henry Cullum of Tulia, her mother, Mrs. Bertie Yates of Portales, NM; a brother Elbert Muncey, also of Portales, and two grandchildren, Jimmy Ray and Debra Jean Cullum.

Wife of Harlan

Marie Boston, 95, of Pawnee died Thursday, Aug. 17, 2006, at Auburn Nursing and Rehab Center. She was born Dec. 25, 1910, in Sneedville, Tenn., the daughter of William and Lula Marcum Muncy. She married Harlan Boston in 1929; he died in 1995. 

Mrs. Boston was a homemaker and was of the Methodist faith. 

Survivors: six sons, Melvin (wife, Ruth) Boston of Delavan, Jim (wife, Jan) Boston of Cape Girardeau, Mo., Ron (wife, Marilyn) Boston of Mechanicsburg, Gene (wife, Sandra) Boston of Springfield, Michael (wife, Peggy) Boston of Corinth, Miss., and Thomas (wife, Stella) Boston of Sterling; daughter, Carol Woods of Pawnee; 20 grandchildren; 41 great-grandchildren; four step-great-grandchildren; 11 great-great-grandchildren; two brothers, Fred Muncy (companion, Margaret) of Pawnee and Bob (wife, Patsy) Muncy of Fisher; and several nieces and nephews. 

Services: Pawnee Christian Church, the Revs. Kevin Wolfe and Scott Yates officiating. Burial: Horse Creek Cemetery, Pawnee.
