In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by two sons, Danny J. and Eddie Bowen. Survivors include her loving husband Stan Thompson, two daughters, Carol Sallee and Brenda Marcum, two sons, Wayne K. and Randy Bowen, two sisters, Betty Fitzpatrick and Laura Bowen. Funeral services will be conducted at 1:00 pm Wednesday, June 8, 2011, at the Wilson Funeral Home, by Rev. Eddie Stepp. Burial will be in the Yatesville Memorial Gardens at Louisa, Ky. She was born in Pike County, July 6, 1932, the daughter of the late Charlie Muncy and Hattie Farris Muncy. She was an Avon saleslady and a member of the Piso Freewill Baptist Church. Besides her parents, she was preceded in death by five brothers, Louie Muncy, Frank Muncy, Ernest Muncy, Robert Muncy and Thomas James Muncy; and two sisters, Edith Phillips and Drucella Stanley. She is survived by her husband, Phiness Ray; one son, Randy Ray (Pam) of Pikeville; two daughters, Gloria Bowling (William) of Michigan and Karen Smith (Mitch) of Raccoon; four siblings, Don Muncy of Martin, Lee Muncy of Romulus, Mich., Emogene Dillender of Mt. Clemons, Mich., and Ethel Muncy Reed Maynard of Varney; three grandchildren, Shannon Smith (Christi), Brittany Gibson (Justin) and Nicholas Starnes; and three great-grandchildren, Courtney Smith, Chaz Smith and Isaac Gibson. Funeral services will be held at 1 p.m. Tuesday, Oct. 15, in the Community Funeral Home Chapel with Bill Maynard officiating. Burial will follow in the Ray Family Cemetery, Brushy. Munsey who married Flora Bartley. On 8 Oct 1874, Louisa Jane married Benjamin Franklin Blankenship in Lee County, Virginia. 1900 Census has them living in Paw Paw, Elk, Kansas. Ten children, 9 males and 1 female, were born to this couple: Asbury, Luther, Charles Clay, Robert Francis, Wade Hampton, John B., Claude D., Ruby Catherine, Benjamin Butler, and George "Tony" Blankenship. Memorial services will be at 4 p.m. today at the First United Methodist Church in Floydada with the Rev. Anthony Sisemore officiating and Pamela Jones assisting. Services are under the direction of Moore-Rose-White Funeral Home of Floydada. She died on Thursday, Dec. 7, 2000, at her home in Floydada. She was born on Jan. 7, 1910, in Cook County. She attended schools in Plaska and graduated from high school in Plaska. She moved to the Muncy community in 1927 from Hall County. She moved to Floydada in 1965. She married Robert Muncy on Sept. 9, 1928, in Memphis, Texas. He died on June 20, 1966. She and her husband operated the Muncy Elevator in addition to ranching and farming. She was presented the Floyd County Pioneer Woman of the Year in 1998. She was a member of the First Baptist Church of Floydada. A daughter, Sharon, died in 1940.
