| 407 | Below is the 1888 Will Co. Necrologist entry for Jonathan's death: In the year 1836, our township received an important addition to its population. Jonathan Muncey, John E. WARD, James, STEVENS, H. SHORTS, Eban JONES, and Thomas CULBERTSON, all from the little state of Delaware, took up their residence here, locating in the eastern part of the township (Joliet Twp.). The death of Mr. Muncey, which occurred July 24, 1888, leaves Mr. Culbertson the only survivor of the six. Mr. Muncey bought a claim, sec. 13, the claim to which he afterwards obtained at the sale of canal lands. He was born in Kent county, Delaware. After coming here he worked at his trade of carpentering, and built the old Wheeler house still standing near the Red Mill. He also built the first house at Five Mile Grove for Ephraim PERKINS. Mr. Muncey was an industrious, quiet, reliable citizen, well known and highly regarded by all our older citizens. He was at his death, almost eighty-nine years old. | Muncey, Jonathan Sr. (I3659)

| 429 | Bertha Elva (Muncy) was the daughter of Levi Muncy and Canzadia "Zadie" (Doshier) Muncy. She was born at Sutter, Indian Territory-Choctaw Nation (currently known as Calhoun, Le Flore County, Oklahoma). Elva married Benjamin Semore Morgan (aka: Ben/Bennie)on August 21, 1919 at McCurtain, Haskell County, Oklahoma. Ben and Elva were the parents of three children; two boys and one daughter. Ben and Elva divorced in the mid 1930's, the children came to California with their mother in 1938. They had been in the San Jose area two years when Aunt Elva passed away. She died at San Jose Hospital, the cause of death was cancer, she was only 40 years old. Heartbreaking for her young children, her youngest son was just 12 years old. Equally painful to grandma Canzadia Muncy. She had just lost grandpa Levi on Dec. 8, 1939, and then 6 months later, she lost her beloved daughter. Cancer was no stranger to grandma Canzadia, she was the primary care giver to her mother, Molly Doshier when she died in 1906, the cause being cancer of the spine. Grandma Canzadia died 10 months after Elva died; within a tad more than 2-years, the family had suffered a tremendous loss (losing three loved ones in such a short time). Aunt Elva's oldest son passed away in California in 2006. Her daughter lives in the San Jose area, her youngest son lives in Butte County, CA. All three lived in Santa Clara County most of their lives. Upon retirement the boys moved out of the area. | Muncy, Bertha Elva (I5992)
