6252 Shirley Ann Munsee was born in Idaho Falls, Idaho, to Francis Vern Munsee and Letha Charlotte Crofts.
She grew up in a few areas of Idaho, including Lost River and Mackey areas before they moved to Tacoma, Pierce county, Washington, towards the end of World War 2.

She loved to ride horses and would go up into the hills around Lost River to play with old Indian Pottery at a place she made into a play area, from what she told me.
She didn't realize it could've been a lost Indian campsite or village.

She met Raymond Glen Haun, while at a church dance up in Bellevue, Washington, while he was stationed at Fort Lewis.
They eventually became engaged and got married in the Idaho Falls temple of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints, on February 9, 1955.

They were very active in going camping and trips out to the ocean and traveling around in their early years. They also were very active in church and held many callings.

Shirley was a beautiful singer and pianist and organist and played for sacrament meetings and primary. It was a joy to be able to hear her play piano.

She and my dad, along with my youngest brother, Ryan, went on their last major trip excursion back around 1990 before their health got too bad to travel anymore. They went down to California and through Nevada, Utah, Idaho then back to Washington state.

She was a great mom and a mom to many of the neighbor kids. The neighborhood kids always remembered her best for making great Divinity! She was a great cook and made many wonderful tasty dinners and desserts.

Ray preceded her in death by a few years.

Mom became ill with diabetes and led to congestive heart failure in 2003.

She was a real trouper through her illnesses.

I was with her of the morning when she was still talking and awake. She talked with me for a few minutes before she finally just went to sleep and passed away several hours later. Vern, Letha, Ryan and myself (Lori) were with her when she finally passed.

Shirley also had 2 older sisters, Margie Elaine, who married LaMar Bingham, then later Marvin Becker after LaMar died, and Madge Norene, who married Reuben Darrell Campbell.

Interesting to me to note that Shirley's father died on December 26, 1982, and Elaine passed away also on Dec. 26.
