His last official recorded residence is Lee County, Virginia. HOWEVER, Peter is listed in the 1810 tax list for Lee County. Although a Samuel is listed, is it probably not Samuel Jr., but Samuel III since he owns no stock. Name shown is Jesse (alias John) Muncey. Enlistment in Army in Chillicothe, OH ; an armorer. Transferred to Michigan and discharged in 1817, where he remained. 1850 Census - listed as Jesse Muncy, age 66 (b. ca 1784) in Virginia. "Lake Huron Shore", published 1883, p.164, biograpical info on early Lake Huron area settlers lists Jesse Muncey Sr. as being "originally from Virginia." The Lake Huron Shore, a history of early pioneers of the area, (p. 164) says that Jesse Muncey Sr. Death certificates of children always list England as the place of birth. This appears to be the only source showing England as location of birth. Most likely that Virginia or Delaware is the place of birth. Delaware is certainly a possibility since Muncys were in Delaware during that period, although most were in Virginia by his birthdate.
