- Resey was the daughter of Jerry and Sarah Dora Brock Muncie. She married Coleman, the son of Coleman and Myrtle Walters Hicks. After the birth of their daughter Maymie, in 1922, the couple moved to Indianapolis. Their second daughter, Dixie, was born in that city.
When Mr. Hicks passed away, in 1934, Resey became a widow, with two young children, in a city far from home. Thankfully, some of her siblings had also relocated to Indianapolis and she gained moral support through them. There was a second marriage to Oliver Jackson, after 1940, but it was of a short duration and ended in divorce. She married Bennie H., the son of George and Lutilda Jackson Lynch, on November 17, 1945 in Hamilton County, Indiana.
