Lawrence Muncy, age 82 of Warriormine, WV died Tuesday, October 25, 2016 at Carilion Roanoke Memorial Hospital in Roanoke, VA. Born April 29, 1934 at Warriormine, WV, he was a son of the late Izear and Okie Altizer Muncy. He was of the Pentecostal Holiness Faith and was a retired coal miner. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by one daughter, Sherri Lynn Muncy Brown; three brothers, Cecil Muncy, Walter Muncy, and Earl Muncy.
He is survived by his wife, Madeline Muncy; sons, Lawrence Wayne Muncy and wife, Deborah of War, WV and Charles Keith Muncy and wife, Bonnie of Warriormine, WV; daughter, Patty Sue Muncy Hardy and husband, David of Fairbanks, AK; brothers, Wilmer, Elmer, Eddie, and Kenny Muncy all of Warriormine, WV; sisters, Shirley Harman of Tazewell, VA, Eloise Graham of Cucumber, WV, and Effie Collins of Warriormine, WV; seven grandchildren, Lawrence Wayne Muncy, Jr. and wife, Savannah, Britney Hope Muncy Stanley and husband, Dirk, Joshua Muncy, Hannah Muncy, David Lawrence Hardy, Randy Kevin Hardy, and Anthony Matthew Hardy; three great grandchildren, Matthew Thomas Hardy, Carrie Ann Tumbloo Hardy, and Reina Daughtry.
Funeral services will be conducted at 11 AM Saturday, October 29, 2016 at Peery & St. Clair Funeral Home in Tazewell, VA with the Reverend Johnny Muncy officiating. Burial will follow at Grandview Memory Gardens in Bluefield, VA.
