STEVENS, Mrs. CORA ELLEN
PLAINVIEW, Sept. 18 (Special) - Funeral services for Mrs. Cora Ellen Stevens, a resident of Hale and Floyd Counties for 65 of her 84 years, will be conducted at 10 a.m. Saturday from the chapel of Plainview First Baptist Church with the Rev. Horace Reeves, retired Assembly of God minister of Plainview officiating.
Burial will be in Plainview Cemetery under direction of Lemons Funeral Home of Plainview.
Mrs. Stevens died this morning after a long illness.
She was born Feb. 21, 1874, in Collin County and moved to Floyd County in 1893 from Slidell. In 1900 she and her husband moved to Hale County and homesteaded land near Plainview. Her husband, Fred Stevens, died in 1917.
Mrs. Stevens was a long time member of Plainview First Baptist Church.
Survivors are a son, Grady Stevens of Plainview; two stepchildren, Mrs. Nina Kelly of Parson, Kan., and Herbert Stevens of Los Angeles, Calif.; two brothers, J. B. Muncy of Artesia, N.M. and Ed Muncy of Fort Worth, and one grandchild.
