R. E. Muncy and “Emmett” Muncy appear in a number of Artesia Advocate newspaper items as being from Roswell and “well known transfer man.”
He had a transfer company in Roswell by 1903. In December 1907 L.N. Muncy and Sons (inc. R.E. Muncy) purchased a large tract of line in Elkins NM and R.E. Muncy moved to Elkins to manage, and the transfer business was sold to J. S. Anderson who continued to use the name “Muncy Transfer” until it was merged with another transfer company in January 1908.
