  FIND A GRAVE MEMORIAL ID 60962102 Gracie was the daughter of James "Jim" Muncy and Sarah Caroline (Dennis) Muncy. Her paternal grandparents were William S. "Billie" Muncy and Mary "Polly" Sizemore; both of these grandparents were born in Clay County, Kentucky. Her maternal grandparents were George M. Dennis and Margaret (Harrison) Dennis. Gracie was born near Poteau, Indian Territory-Choctaw Nation (Oklahoma did not become a state until 1911).  When Gracie was 16, she married her first husband in Sebastian County, Arkansas. They became the proud parents of seven children. In the late 1930's they moved from Oklahoma to Los Angeles County, California. Shortly thereafter, her husband, on his way to work died instantly when his automobile was struck by a train.  At the young age of 29, she became a widow with seven little children; (1 month – 11 years) of age, to support. I'm sure she must have been devastated, within minutes she had gone from housewife to "bread-winner." Within a short time she was employed and did an amazing job raising her children.  Some years later, she met her second husband; he was a career Navy man.  They enjoyed their life together until he passed away on Nov. 15, 1987 in Long Beach. Gracie passed away at age 92, ending an incredible earthy journey.
