“A monument to Thomas Jackson Muncy, erected by his devoted friends and followers, was placed on the Bland Courthouse green. The inscription reads: A great tribune of the people. Noted orator and debater. An intellectual giant of powerful physique. He interpreted the hopes and aspirations of the people as no man of his day and generation.
