- Doris Jean Muncey Burchett, 79, of Huntington, widow of Col. W. E. Burchett, passed away Thursday, June 28, in St. Mary's Medical Center. Doris was born September 16, 1927 in Kermit, WV to the late Thomas and Bertha Muncey. She was also preceded in death by two brothers, Floyd Muncey and Fred Muncey.
She is survived by
one son, Larry Smith of Louisiana
one daughter, Lois Damron of Ona, WV;
five grandchildren and several great grandchildren;
three sisters, Judith Ann Cox, Betty Lou Muncey and Bonnie Sue Thompson of Huntington;
two nieces; five nephews;
two aunts,
Lucille Hunt of Washington Court House, OH
Lyda Whitlow of Jacksonville, FL;
several cousins.
Doris retired from Kroger Company as a head checker.
Graveside service was at Forest Lawn Cemetery in Pecks Mill, WV.
