Paula Marts Obituary
Paula Irene Marts, 64, of Dubois, Idaho, died Tuesday, March 22, 2011, at her daughter's home under the care of Hands of Hope Hospice.
Paula was born the second of seven children to Clifford and Norma Muncey. Growing up, Paula attended numerous schools in Idaho. She went back to school as an adult and got her high school diploma in 1976, which was great fun for her daughters to have her going to school with them. Later, she started working on her nursing career. She loved her work, especially with the elderly. She would often bring them home with her for the holidays.
Paula married Lee McCord in 1963, and they were blessed with two daughters, Monica and Lanna. Although they later divorced, they remained good friends and were a support to each other and their families.
Paula later met and married the love of her life, Ralph "Red" Marts. He brought her more than 20 years of pure happiness. His death left a large void in her life. We have peace and comfort knowing they are now together again.
Over the years, because of her caring and loving nature, she became "Mom" and "Grandma" to so many. Paula touched the lives of everyone she met and will be dearly missed by all of us.
Paula is survived by her daughters, Monica McCord of Dubois and Alanna (Bob) Morris of Idaho Falls; her granddaughter, Lyndsea Morris; grandson, Dylan Morris; and a great-granddaughter, Allora Adams; her brother, Virgil (Maria) Muncey of California; her sisters, Laura (Daune) VanCleave of Oregon, Connie (Donald) Hurst of Mackay, Idaho, Julie (Charles) Pfenninger of Council, Idaho, and Diana (Jim) Pottorff of Arizona; and many nieces and nephews.
Paula was preceded in death by both of her parents; her loving husband, Red; and her sister, Beulah Marlow.
Please join her family and friends in a celebration of Paula's life at 3 p.m. Saturday, March 26, in Dubois at the Lions Hall. Paula has asked that in lieu of flowers, donations be made to the Hands of Hope Hospice for all the wonderful care and support they have given our family.
