- Funeral services will be held in the Erickson & Brown Funeral Home Chapel on Friday morning at 10 a.m. for Taft resident Ted Healey, 88. The pastor of First Baptist Church, will officiate. Burial will be held in the West Side District Cemetery.
Mr. Healey was born in Minnesota on September 1, 1915, and passed away in a Bakersfield hospital on March 27, 2004.
He moved to Taft in 1951 and had been employed by Chevron Oil Company and retired after 35 years of service.
Mr. Healey was a member of the National Association for Amateur Radio for almost 60 years and he operated his station W6ZSO. He was also a ember of the Buena Vista Golf Club.
His survivors include his wife Dorothy Healey, his son, his daughter, his grandson, his granddaughters, his 11 great grandchildren and his three great great grandchildren.
Friends are invited to pay their respects on Thursday from 3 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. and again on Friday from 8:30 a.m. to service time at the Erickson & Brown Funeral Home.
