- "Bud" Earl Fielden Munsey, age 75, of Mount Carmel passed away Wednesday, June 25, 2008 at the Northside Hospital following an extended illness.
Bud was born on February 11, 1933 in Hamblen County to the late Fielden ans Anna Munsey. At a young age Bud began working as a bell hop at the Brumley Hotel. He was a veteran of the United Staes Army having served during the Korean Conflict. He was a foreman at the Magnavox facility in Jeferson City. He alson worked with his brother Otis at the Orange Bowl Restruant and he and his wife Opal managed the Sandman Motel for several years.
he is preceded in death by his parents, Fielden an Anna Harrell Munsey. Brothers, Glen Munsey and Ben Munsey, Infant sister, Mary Munsey, Brother-in-law, Homer Lowe and beloved pet Carmen.
He is survived by his wife of 28 years Opal Ball Munsey of the home, Son and daughter-in-law, Eric & Kathy Munsey of Rogersville, daughter, Donna Bailey of Greeneville, Step-son, Sherrell Ball and wife, Judy Ball of Church Hill, Step-daughters and husbands, Karen & Sherrell Skelton of Church Hill, Kim & Ken Miller of Mount Carmel. Grandchildren, Abby Jones, Katie Jones, Kara Bailey, Brittany Bailey, Brandon Bailey, Megan Kite and husband Brandon, Krista Adams and husband Jeff , Kristy Parkins and husband Wesley. Great Grandchildren, Jacques Gillespie, Serén Greer and Clinton Adams. Brothers, Bob Munsey of Jamestown, North Dakota, Otis & Joyce Munsey of Rogersville, Herb Munsey of Greeneville, Ralph & Mabel Munsey of White Pine and Howard & Mildred Munsey of Morristown. Sister, Claudia Lowe of Kingsport. Special cousin, Virgil Harrell. Several nieces and nephews . his special buddies, Buster, Cassie, Spyder and Mollie.
