Herbert Paul Munsey, age 74, of Greeneville, died Tuesday afternoon at Laughlin Memorial Hospital.
“Herbie” as he was fondly known, retired from Magnavox after 42 years of service. He was a believer in Christ.
He was a lifetime member of Moose Lodge No. 692 and served in the U.S. Army.
Survivors include one son: Brian Munsey; special grandchildren: Josh Archer, Jessica Archer, and Holly Yates; five great-grandchildren; mother of his son: Joyce Reynolds; two brothers: Bob Munsey of North Dakota and Otis Munsey of Rogersville; one sister: Claudia Lowe of Kingsport; several nieces and nephews.
He was a son of the late Albert “Poo” and Elizabeth Munsey. He was preceded in death by five brothers: Ben Munsey, Rev. Howard Munsey, Glen Munsey, Bud Munsey, and Ralph Munsey.
The family will receive friends from 5 – 7 p.m. on Friday, February 12th, at Doughty-Stevens Funeral Home. Memorial services will follow visitation at 7 p.m. in the funeral home chapel. The Rev. Ronnie Lowe will officiate.
Honorary pallbearers will be Tommy Hopson, Fay Johnson, Tommy Blue Armitage, Tommy Cobble, Petie Lollar, and William Lister.
