HEREFORD – Ghent "Chick" Muncy, 74, died Monday, April 2, 1990, in Amarillo.
Graveside services will be at 11 a.m. Wednesday in Vega Cemetery with Ed Bills officiating. Arrangements are by Rix Funeral Directors.
Mr. Muncie was born in Old Tascosa . He married Elsie Hickenbotham in 1970. He had been a Vega resident 21 years, moving from Boys Ranch. He was owner and operator of Check's Welding. He was a member of Vega Church of Christ, American Legion and Veterans of Foreign Wars. He was an Army veteran of World War II, where he earned a Purple Heart.
Survivors include his wife; a son, Jimmy Muncy of Amarillo; two stepsons, John Dugan of Amarillo and Verlin Dugan of Heldron, Okla.; two stepdaughters, Mary Bean of Beaumont and Carolyn Martin od Portage, Ind.; two sisters, Pauline McHarque and Jimmie Elkins, both of Amarillo; nine granddaughters; and a grandson.
