Stella Edna Brown died On April 17, 2009 of natural causes at Oakwood Country Place in McMinnville. She was 93 Years old.
Private family services will be held at Evergreen Memorial Park Mausoleum.
Stella was born in Shady Point, Oklahoma on January 30, 1916.She was the daughter of Levi and Canzadie Dashier Muncy.
She married Lester Brown on December 24, 1935 in Milton Oklahoma. The couple made there home in California before coming to Oregon in 1940. They moved to Carlton Oregon in 1952 and then to McMinnville in 1958.
Stella enjoyed gardening, sewing, and quilting. She was known for her mouth watering lemon meringue and apple pies. She had been a member of the Bethel Baptist Church for many years and later attended the Christian Church in McMinnville.
She also was a member of the Pythian Sisters in her early years. Stella had enjoyed working part time at a book store on Third Street for several years before the store was sold.
Stella is survived by four children, daughters Lucille Marsh of Salem, Beverly Granger and Melba Smith of McMinnville, and a son Michael Brown also of McMinnville. Ten grandchildren, twenty two great grandchildren, and thirteen great-great grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband in 1993, six sisters, Elsie, Elvie, Violet, Maudie, Lila, Lucille, and four brothers, Hollis, Everett, Howard, Willis and a great-great grandson Quentin.
Stella had a special fondness with cats. Memorial contributions may be made to Homeward Bound Pets c/ o Macy & Son Funeral Directors.
