Daniel R. Muncie, a Hood River, Oregon, resident, died at home May 20, 2005. He was 69 years of age. Services were held on Tuesday, May 24, 2005 at Anderson's Tribute Center in Hood River,Oregon. Interment was at Mt. View Cemetery.
Daniel was born February 7, 1936, in Kansas, to Elton and Marie (Jones) Muncie. He came to Oregon in 1941 and grew up and attended schools in Mt. Hood, Oregon.
On October 11, 1976, he and Faye Gurnsey were married. Daniel worked as a planner man in Carver, Oregon, and then at Duckwall Pooley Fruit Company where he operated the palletizer, bin machine and sizer in pre size.
He enjoyed shuffleboard, fishing, arrowhead collecting, football and bow hunting.
Survivors include his wife, Faye, of Hood River, Oregon; children Mark R. Muncie of Teinwenden, Germany, Tammy D. Abbott of Hammond, Oregon, Nick A. Muncie and Russ A. Muncie, both of Lane County, Oregon, Deidre L. Stoker of Multnomah County, Oregon, and Kimberly D. Muncie and Brenda K. Muncie Garcia, both of Portland, Oregon; stepchildren Larry J. Gurnsey and Gary D. Gurnsey, both of Oroville, California, Trish A. Hosheit of Hood River, Oregon, Debbie L. Becker of Schuyler, Nebraska, Joe Gurnsey of Oroville, California, and Becky L. Gurnsey of Russellville, Kentucky.
He is also survived by his sister Patricia Robison and her husband, Bob, of Port Orchard, Washington. Twenty-two grandchildren and four great-grandchildren also survive.
He was preceded in death by a son, Michael Muncie, and a stepson, Dennis W. Gurnsey, and by his parents, Elton and Marie.
