His mother was Helen L Crouch, granddaughter of Notley Hays Crouch and Sarah Louisa Wiseman.
In 1910 he and his parents lived in a place they were renting in Ward 4 in Columbus, OH. His father worked as a fireman for a railroad.
In 1930 he and his first wife, Lorene M, lived in a house they were renting for $25.50 a month at 1716 Brookline Avenue in Dayton, OH. He worked as some sort of press operator for an electric refrigerator manufacturer. Also living with them was her brother Virgil, who was listed as Virgil Muncie, although surely his surname was whatever her maiden name was. He worked as an assembler for a toy manufacturer.
In 1940 he and his second wife and their son lived in a rowhouse they were renting for $22 a month at 516 South Ogden Avenue in Columbus, OH. He worked as a driver for a freight company, with an income in 1939 of $1500 for 52 weeks of work, and she worked as a secretary for an insurance company, with an income in 1939 of $1200 for 52 weeks of work.
