- Mary Lee McDowell was the daughter of Virginia natives John and Susannah Shelby (Jones) McDowell. She married Josephus Grabeel Munsey 18 March 1880 in Lee County, VA. To this union, four children were born: John Asbury "Francis" Muncy, Palmer Loring Munsey, Gertrude Muncy, and Marjorie "Margie M" Munsey.
