BLUEFIELD- Juanita Vivian Munsey, 84, of Route 2 Box 135,
Bluefield, died on Monday, Oct. 1, 2001 at the Maples in Bluefield.
Born Feb. 24, 1917, in Mercer County, she was the daughter of the late Walter Grant Meadows Sr. and Nella Kidd Meadows. Mrs. Munsey had been a lifelong resident of Mercer County and was retired from Bluefield State College as the supervisor of the Snack Bar and was a homemaker. She was a founding member of the 1 st Church of God in Montcalm and was a member and attended the 1 st Church of God on the Airport Road in Bluefield.
She was a devoted wife, mother and grandmother.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Oran Hershel Munsey; three sisters, Mildred Cordle, Verlie Hicks and Violet McDowell; and two brothers, Roy Cornice Meadows and Walter Meadows Jr.
Survivors include her son, Eldon Munsey and wife, Priscilla of Route 2, Bluefield; daughter, Claudine Perkins of the home; two grandchildren, Teresa Billings and husband, Ray of Wytheville, Va. and Steve Munsey and wife, Kathy of Columbia, S.C.; two great grandchildren, Tiffany Pruett and Matthew Munsey; and foster brother, Clayman Webb of Chicago, Ill.
Funeral services will be conducted at 7 p.m. today at the Cravens Shires
Funeral Home in Bluewell with the Rev. Dana Hambrick officiating.
Graveside rites will be conducted at 11 a.m. Wednesday at Roselawn
Memorial Gardens on the Courthouse Road, Princeton.
The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 6 8 p.m. today.
